Welcome, and thank you for viewing my site!
My name is Jean M. Hodges, and I LGBT+ urban fantasy & make art of Black folks being happy, magical and gay (in more ways than one). As my mind and body love to hang out in liminal spaces, I am also a poet, as well as a writer and storyteller.
I believe that words have power, and as a writer, I work hard to bring diverse and interesting characters and worlds to life through my own writing.
My other interests include failing at anything math-related, singing showtunes, researching obscure world history and attracting hordes of black cats in my wake.
So, with that in mind, let’s confer, xirs! I encourage you to look through the links at the top of the page, so go forth and explore, friends! The menus are full of stuff I make.
You can find my social media links all over the site. If you’re interested in finding more of my most recent work, check out this page. I’m sure you’ll find something you like.
I also have a quarterly newsletter called LAVENDER LETTERHEAD: A soft & steady flow of stream of conscious (new)letters sent from my writing desk straight into your capable hands. This quarterly care package includes (but is not limited to): a digital anthology aka handy reference guide to all the latest projects I’ve shared to the interwebs, project announcements and publishing news, updates to whatever’s going on in my own life, and pictures of my cat — just as treat. Updates every three months. You can check it out here!
Don’t be afraid to get in touch! There’s a contact form provided on the site, and I reply back within a day of receiving a message.
Once again, welcome, and thank you for viewing my site! I hope we all get to talk soon.
